WP 87 - Emigration and labour shortages. An opportunity for trade unions in new member states? [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper explores whether and how unions in the post-socialist EU member states have responded to the opportunity of improving their situation, offered by the increased emigration after the recent EU enlargements.

Multiplex Modular Nanorobotic Systems with Catalytic Activity under Magnetic Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present modular nanorobots composed of a magnetic propulsion module and different extension modules carrying functional activities, assembled via DNA base pairing. The system integrates propulsion, optical tracking, enzymatic catalysis, and cell docking in a programmable manner.

The Path from Romania to the Italian Domestic Care Sector: The First Stage of the Decisionmaking Process on Labour Migration

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Sociologia
This paper aims to propose a multi-stage model for the decisionmaking process on labour migration that takes into account both individual agency and structural dimensions along political-institutional, economic, and social factors. While it is focused on

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Polymer Network Modified Perovskite for High‐Performance Pure Blue Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A polymer network of poly(4‐vinylphenol) (PVPh) is introduced to improve pure blue perovskite light‐emitting diodes. PVPh effectively passivates defects, enhances film morphology, reduces lattice strain, and suppresses ion migration. These effects lead to record device performance, achieving 9.82% external quantum efficiency and stable blue emission at

Cross-border labour mobility within an enlarged EU [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the potential for increased cross-border labour mobility within the EU-25 and considers the costs and benefits of any increase in labour mobility to both sending and receiving countries in the medium to long run.

Regionally Localized Electrolyte Engineering via UV Crosslinking for Stable Ether–Carbonate Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a regionally localized electrolyte (RLE) that spatially separates ether‐ and carbonate‐based functions to stabilize both Li metal and high‐voltage cathodes. An immobilized ether‐rich layer directs Li+ transport, activates LiNO3 locally, and forms a uniform LiF‐rich SEI, enabling lower overpotential, uniform deposition, and long ...

Do Foreigners Replace Native Immigrants? Evidence from a Panel Cointegration Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the impact of the immigration of foreigners on domestic labour mobility. Since David Card's seminal study on the regional labour market impact of the Mariel Boatlift it is controversial whether domestic labour mobility equilibrates ...

Critical Role of Polymer Gate Dielectrics on the Charge Carrier Transport in Perovskite Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces
