Some considerations of the performance of two honeycomb gas path seal material systems [PDF]
A standard Hastelloy-X honeycomb material and a pack aluminide coated honeycomb material were evaluated as to their performance as labyrinth seal materials for aircraft gas turbine engines.

The filamentation of the laser beam as a labyrinth instability
At incident powers much higher than the threshold for filamentation a pulse from a high-power laser generates in the transversal plane a complex structure. It consists of randomly meandering stripes defining connected regions where the field intensity is

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...

Poemaps: Perspectives for Creation and Circulation of Poetry in a Multimedia Context
The Tecnopoetics group has developed the concept of Poemaps, which constitutes a system for the creation of poetry within a logic of georeferencing. The intrinsic elements of the Poemaps are: (1) the critical articulation linking poetry and urban space: (

Sculpting the labyrinth: Morphogenesis of the developing inner ear.
The vertebrate inner ear is a precision sensory organ, acting as both a microphone to receive sound and an accelerometer to detect gravity and motion. It consists of a series of interlinked, fluid-filled chambers containing patches of sensory epithelia ...

Contextual fear conditioning induces BNIP3L‐dependent mitochondrial fission in glutamatergic neurons of the BLA, independently of mitophagy. Loss of BNIP3L elevates Drp1Ser637 phosphorylation, thereby suppressing mitochondrial fission, compromising ATP production, and attenuating excitatory synaptic transmission.

TOPOEKPHRASIS IN THE SHORT STORY «DON'T LOOK NOW» BY DAPHNE DU MAURIER
The topoekphrasis in D. du Maurier's short story «Don't Look Now» has been investigated. Under the term ‘Topoekphrasis’ we mean a description of the scene of action, which "is the hero of a literary work" (O.

Carnivoran hunting style and phylogeny reflected in bony labyrinth morphometry
Carnivorans are a highly diverse and successful group of mammals, found on the top of the food chain. They originated in the Palaeocene (ca. 60 Ma) and have developed numerous lifestyles, locomotion modes and hunting strategies during their evolutionary ...

Flow induced force of labyrinth seal [PDF]
Flow induced instability force due to a labyrinth seal is analyzed. An approximate solution is given for the partial differential equation representing the flow in labyrinth seal and it is compared with the finite difference method in order to verify the

A critical Ising model on the Labyrinth
A zero-field Ising model with ferromagnetic coupling constants on the so-called Labyrinth tiling is investigated. Alternatively, this can be regarded as an Ising model on a square lattice with a quasi-periodic distribution of up to eight different ...
