Effect of shaping plate apparatus on mechanical properties of 3D printed cement-based materials: Experimental and numerical studies [PDF]

open access: yesCement and Concrete Research (2022), 2021
Precisely controlling the shape of the printed-layers, eliminating the curved sides and internal stress concentration, and increasing the mechanical properties are essential to guarantee the quality of 3D printed cement-based structures. This work aims at achieving the above-mentioned targets through a specially designed shaping plate apparatus.

Quantum Information in a Distributed Apparatus [PDF]

open access: yesFound.Phys.28:1005-1012,1998, 1998
We investigate the information provided about a specified distributed apparatus of n units in the measurement of a quantum state. It is shown that, in contrast to such measurement of a classical state, which is bounded by log (n+1) bits, the information in a quantum measurement is bounded by 3.7 x n^(1/2) bits.

Asymptomatic lacrimal flow abnormalities in patients with septal deviations and turbinate hypertrophy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: This study aimed to investigate the lacrimal flow in patients affected by septal deviations and turbinate hypertrophy and to evaluate changes after rhinoseptoplasty with dacryocystography (DCT) and computed tomographic dacryocystography (CT ...

Androgen receptor-positive ductal adenocarcinoma of the nasolacrimal duct: A case report

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, 2017
Purpose: Primary ductal adenocarcinoma arising in the structures of the lacrimal apparatus is extremely rare, and the entity is considered a lacrimal counterpart of salivary duct carcinoma, of which the majority are known to express androgen receptor (AR)

The tear turnover and tear clearance tests - a review [PDF]

open access: yesExpert Review of Medical Devices 2018, 15(3), 219-229, 2019
Introduction. The aim is to provide a summary of methods available for the assessment of tear turnover and tear clearance rates. The review defines tear clearance and tear turnover and describes their implication for ocular surface health. Additionally, it describes main types of techniques for measuring tear turnover, including fluorescein tear ...

The Early Evolution of Rhynchosaurs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The rhynchosaurian archosauromorphs are an important and diverse group of fossil tetrapods that first appeared during the Early Triassic and probably became extinct during the early Late Triassic (early Norian).

Primary fistulectomy of congenital lacrimal fistula: A case report

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2018
A 13-month-old male patient presenting with epiphora and discharge in his left eye present since birth was assessed in our clinic. Epiphora and an orifice of fistulae next to the left nasal root were identified via physical examination.

Quantum Coherence, Coherent Information and Information Gain in Quantum Measurement [PDF]

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters) 127 (5), 50004 (2019), 2019
A measurement is deemed successful, if one can maximize the information gain by the measurement apparatus. Here, we ask if quantum coherence of the system imposes a limitation on the information gain during quantum measurement. First, we argue that the information gain in a quantum measurement is nothing but the coherent information or the distinct ...

Evaluation of Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy Success Rate in Patients with Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction (2015-18)

open access: yesمجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی گرگان, 2022
Background and Objective: Any factor that disrupts the tear duct can cause epiphora, one of the most prevalent causes for patients to go to ophthalmology clinics. Nasolacrimal duct obstruction can be congenital or acquired.
