Lactation curves of dairy camels in an intensive system [PDF]
Weekly milk records of 47 she-camels in a multibreed dairy camel herd were collected for over a period of 5 years. A total of 72 lactation curves were defined, and relationships with parity, calving season, lactation length, milk production level, following lactations, and dam weight were analyzed. Overall mean values were milk yield up to 12 months, 1,

Non-parametric lactation curves
Animal Science, 1989ABSTRACTLactation curves are fitted to data as a preliminary to estimating summary statistics. Two widely quoted curves are atbe-ct (Wood, 1967) and a(1 - e-bt) - ct (Cobby and Le Du, 1978), each of which has three parameters. Restriction to either of these curves imposes limitations on the fit to the data and can result in biased estimation of summary

ESTIMATING THE SHAPE OF THE LACTATION CURVE
Canadian Journal of Animal Science, 1976The shape of the lactation curve was estimated utilizing a multiple-trait generalized least squares analysis to calculate constants for average daily milk and fat production within 16 stages of lactation for the Holstein and Jersey breeds. The results agree with recent studies in the United States.
