Risk assessments of invasive species present one of the most challenging applications of species distribution models (SDMs) due to the fundamental issues of distributional disequilibrium, niche changes, and truncation. Invasive species often occupy only a fraction of their potential environmental and geographic ranges, as their spatiotemporal dynamics ...

Two decades of changes in the global network of illegal wildlife trade
Abstract Understanding how illegal wildlife trade (IWT) has changed over time is fundamental for biodiversity conservation; however, knowledge of the network remains limited. We used TRAFFIC's IWT dataset, legal trade data from the CITES legal wildlife trade database as a benchmark, and network analysis to identify changes in IWT from 2000 to 2022. The

Dietary supplementation with ginger (Zingiber officinale) and locust bean (Parkia biglobosa) for 55 days modulated hepatic function, oxidative stress, inflammatory markers, and apoptosis‐related gene expression in Wistar rats. Treatment increased liver function enzymes (GGT, AST, ALT, ALP), albumin, and antioxidant defenses (SOD, CAT, GPx, GSH), while ...

Parasitoid wasps can manipulate host behavior to enhance their own survival. Here we find that a parasitoid of aphids, Aphelinus chaonia, induces aphids to move to the leaf axil or leave the plant prior to pupation. This seems to have no effect on hyperparasitism, but mummy location may nevertheless impact parasitoid survival.

Global Bibliometric and Phylogenetic Analysis of mcr‐Mediated Colistin Resistance
The emergence and spread of mobilized colistin resistance (mcr) genes threaten the efficacy of colistin, a last‐resort antibiotic used in the management of multidrug‐resistant Gram‐negative bacteria (GNB). This study was aimed at (1) providing a bibliometric assessment of the mcr‐related research landscape and (2) conducting phylogenetic and metadata ...

Rabies is a zoonotic disease known to humankind for millennia. Despite being preventable, rabies is still neglected and causes human fatalities, predominantly in resource‐limited areas in Africa and Asia. In South Africa, rabies is maintained in both domestic and wildlife reservoir hosts, with frequent cross‐species transmission.
