Diatoms in the Bottom Sediments of Two Closely Located Lakes in Khakassia [PDF]
Diatoms are one of the main paleo-indicators of lake changes, as they are preserved in bottom sediments for centuries. The present study reports new data on diatoms in the bottom sediments of Lake Shira and compares them with diatoms from the bottom ...

Characterisation of carbonate lake sediments as a potential filler for polymer composites
The purpose of the study was to determine whether lake sediments could be a potential raw material for the plastics industry. The examined samples were obtained in a complex process of sediment collection from Lake Swarzędzkie located in the region of ...

Spatial and temporal variations of Rb/Sr ratios of the bulk surface sediments in Lake Qinghai
The Rb/Sr ratios of lake sediments have been suggested as indicators of weathering intensity by increasing work. However, the geochemistry of Rb/Sr ratios of lake sediments is variable between different lakes.

Organotins in lake sediment [PDF]
Organotin compounds are entering the aquatic environment due to their use in antifouling paints on boats and from municipal and industrial wastewaters [1]. Tributyltin (TBT) is highly toxic to aquatic life, particularly to marine molluscs (oysters) [2] and gastropods, leading to observed declines of dog-whelk populations on various coasts [3].

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.
