Development and Validation of a Nomogram Based on Red Blood Cell and Reticulocyte Parameters for Differentiating Thalassemia Trait From Iron Deficiency Anemia

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Thalassemia trait (TT) and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) are the primary causes of microcytic hypochromic anemia with overlapping hematological features, making their differential diagnosis challenging, so this study developed and validated a nomogram integrating red blood cell (RBC) count, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), reticulocyte percentage (RET ...

Long‐Term Analysis of Winter Wheat Yield and Climatic Influences in Ukraine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Long‐term field data (1968–2024) show that winter wheat yields in central Ukraine increased despite warming, but yield stability declined. Rising temperatures, more frequent soil moisture droughts and shortened winter calm increasingly limit productivity.

Edaphic Controls Override Climatic and Management Effects on Soil Organic Carbon in Southern African Agroecosystems

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Understanding the relative importance of climatic, edaphic, and management controls on soil organic carbon (SOC) is essential for improving SOC prediction and land management in data‐scarce agroecosystems. Aim This study quantified SOC drivers across Southern African agroecosystems using 655 observations covering climatic variables,

Decoupling glacier retreat and surface stabilization on the Snežnik Plateau (Slovenia), insights from in situ cosmogenic 36Cl exposure and depth‐profile ages

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glaciokarst landscapes pose distinctive challenges for cosmogenic dating because meltwater and runoff can be rapidly rerouted into ponors and conduit networks, weakening glacier–river coupling and promoting local sediment storage. We reconstruct glacier retreat and postglacial stabilization on the Snežnik Plateau (SW Slovenia) using in situ ...

Overview of the re‐evaluation of trace elements as nutritional feed additives in the European Union: characterization, safety, and efficacy

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract The re‐evaluation of feed additives in the European Union was outlined in the Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003. The primary objectives were to ensure safety and verify efficacy, as well as to update authorizations and phase out unsafe additives or those in which the industry expressed no interest.

Reduced Intra- and Extracellular Circulating Postprandial Lysosomal Acid Lipase Activity in Patients with MASLD

open access: yesMetabolites
Background/Objectives: Low fasting blood lysosomal acid lipase (LAL) activity is associated with the pathogenesis of metabolic hepatic steatosis. We measured LAL activity in blood and plasma before and after an oral fat tolerance test (OFTT) in patients ...
