A digital shadow of CAR T cell expansion in a perfusion bioreactor: Informing optimal harvest times for autologous cell therapy

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Using online metabolite data from the first few days of a bioreactor run, the digital shadow can forecast the cell concentration in real‐time with an accuracy of 13% (standard deviation ≈ 6%). These predictions can guide the optimal harvest time of CAR T cells for subsequent re‐infusion into the patient.

Exploring the Antiproliferative Activity of Flavolignans From the Leaves of Casearia arborea (Salicaceae)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Casearia genus (Salicaceae) is well known as a source of natural antitumor prototypes, as described for clerodane diterpenes. In this way, the dichloromethane phase from leaves of Casearia arborea was phytochemically evaluated in liquid chromatography coupled to high‐resolution mass spectrometry, furnishing flavonoid, flavolignan, and ...

Design and Characterization of Prodrugged Anti‐CTLA‐4 Antibodies

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Therapeutic antibodies are widely used to treat diseases like cancer and inflammatory conditions by binding with high specificity to their molecular targets. Masking is a strategy to mitigate undesirable activity in non‐target tissues, improving safety and pharmacokinetic (PK) profiles by reducing target‐mediated drug disposition (TMDD). In this study,

Bioelectrochemical treatment of oil sands process‐affected water: A comparative study

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Comparative Efficiency of microbial fuel cell, microbial electrolysis cell, and microbial electrosynthesis cell systems for oil sands process‐affected water treatment. Abstract In this study, removal of dissolved organic carbon and naphthenic acids (NAs) from oil sands process‐affected water (OSPW) was evaluated in flow‐through microbial fuel cell (MFC)
