‘Why Did You Go to Buda?’: The Humanist Sodality and Mantuan’s Rustic Idyll in Bohuslaus of Hassenstein’s Ecloga sive Idyllion Budae (1503)☆

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract In the late fifteenth century, the Hungarian royal court at Buda was home to a cosmopolitan community of humanists. In early modern historiography, this cultural milieu has often been interpreted as one of the new, emergent ‘centres’ of the Renaissance in East Central Europe.

Basic Regularities of Assessing Ore Pulp Parameters in Gravity Settling of Solid Phase Particles Based on Ultrasonic Measurements

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2019
The article describes the method of controlling the recovered grade based on measuring the intensity of volume ultrasonic oscillations and Lamb waves covering a fixed distance through the test medium and on a metal plate contacting the test medium at ...

Generalized Berry Conjecture and mode correlations in chaotic plates

open access: yes, 2004
We consider a modification of the Berry Conjecture for eigenmode statistics in wave-bearing systems. The eigenmode correlator is conjectured to be proportional to the imaginary part of the Green's function.

Microbially generated ferruginous crusts: A potential biosignature of continental input in coastal settings

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thin ferruginous sandy crusts are common on top of sandstone beds in the Early Permian post‐glacial deposits of the Paraná Basin in southern Brazil. These crusts usually preserve wrinkle structures, suggesting that they might be a product of microbial mediation.

Evaluating the possible role of bottom currents and internal waves in shaping seafloor morphology in a mesophotic reef

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mesophotic reefs are located in low light conditions which, depending on the region, are usually found in water depths greater than ~30 m. They are less affected by ocean warming than reefs found in shallower water depths and thus might become increasingly important for the sustainability of marine biodiversity.

STATUS REPORT ON LAMB WAVES [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
Theoretical and experimental aspects of Lamb waves are considered. These are described as body waves, or modes, which travel throughout an entire plate and are radiated from both surfaces, so that it is possible to detect Lamb waves when the receiver and sender are on opposite sides of the plate.

Reflections of Swedish Fathers in Late Adulthood on Their Past and Present Parental Role in Relation to the Mother

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With a contextual and developmental perspective, this study aimed to examine Swedish late‐adult fathers' reflections on their past and present parental role in relation to the mother and to see how these reflections incorporate changes in gender and parenthood during recent decades in Sweden.

Nondestructive characterization of the elastic properties of orthotropic composites with ultrasound [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Due to the increasing use of composite materials in critical applications demanding light weight to high strength ratio, reliable evaluation tools are necessary.
