LAMINAR AIRFLOW IN THE O.R

AJN, American Journal of Nursing, 1966
Research in orbital space flight and nuclear technology already has contributed various monitoring and automated devices for improved patient care. One of the most recent is the use of laminar airflow to achieve a "clean room." Industry uses the "clean room" with its particle-free air as a place to assemble nuclear weapons and other precision parts ...

Laminar and Quasi-Laminar shock structures

Il Nuovo Cimento B Series 11, 1974
A study of the fine structure of the Earth’s bow shock is presented using high-time-resolution data from HEOS-1. The study refers to previously defined laminar and quasi-laminar structures. The shock thickness appears to be of the order ofc/ω pi and shows, also in the laminar case, upstream waves of 1 Hz.

Morel’s Laminar Sclerosis

European Neurology, 1978
A 49-year-old alcoholic woman was admitted for convulsions. She died after a 4-week clinical course characterized by a persistent coma with diffuse muscular hypertonia. Post-mortem examination of the brain demonstrated a spongy degeneration and gliosis of the cerebral cortex, limited to the 3rd and the 4th layers.

Laminar

ACM SIGPLAN Notices, 2009
Decentralized information flow control (DIFC) is a promising model for writing programs with powerful, end-to-end security guarantees. Current DIFC systems that run on commodity hardware can be broadly categorized into two types: language-level and operating system-level DIFC.

Thalamic laminar necrosis

Acta Neurologica Belgica, 2012
We present two cases, one after status epilepticus and one after brain radiation therapy, with bilateral hyperintense thalamic lesions on T1-weighted imaging. The first patient (54-year-old woman) presented with a generalized status epilepticus following diffuse hemispheric subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Laminar drainage implant

European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018
Objective: To assess the feasibility of a novel surgical technique in painful blind eyes. Design: A prospective safety study conducted at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Participants/samples: A total of 15 end-stage glaucomatous eyes without light perception vision. Methods: After implantation, conjunctival hyperemia, discharge, erosion,

Stability of Laminar Flames

The Physics of Fluids, 1961
Markstein theory of stability of laminar flames is shown to be supported by experimental results on oscillated laminar propane-air flames. Disturbances in appropriate wavelength ranges grow and distort while for other ranges disturbances are damped. These facts imply important restrictions on the nature of a turbulent flame and its interaction with the

The laminar impression technique

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1989
The laminar impression technique is a precise, rapid, and predictable alternative to traditional methods of impression-making in fixed prosthodontics. A preliminary impression is made using plastic "triple-arch" type trays and high-stiffness vinyl polysiloxane jaw relation registration material.

Laminar Dermal Reticulotomy

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1981
Laminar dermal reticulotomy is a procedure in which a dermatome is used to achieve a finer result in the obliteration of scars on the face caused by acne or trauma. A method of preoperative assessment of degree or depth of scarring and postoperative result of laminar dermal reticulotomy by use of a phototopographic technique is described.
