Performance characteristics of viscoseals in laminar and turbulent flow regimes
Tribology International, 2017Abstract In this paper, a numerical study of a viscoseal operating behavior, under laminar and turbulent regime, is presented. The finite element method is used under different hydrodynamic regimes associated to lubrication assumptions. The theoretical model, based on the classical Reynolds equation uses the approach of average value of turbulent ...

A Functional Scaling Relationship for Laminar to Turbulent Flow Regimes
ASME-JSME-KSME 2011 Joint Fluids Engineering Conference: Volume 1, Symposia – Parts A, B, C, and D, 2011A dimensional analysis that is based on the scaling of the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations is presented for correlating bulk flow characteristics arising from a variety of initial conditions. The analysis yields a functional relationship between the characteristic variable of the flow region and the Reynolds number for each of the two ...

Liquid Metal Bearing Performance in Laminar and Turbulent Regimes
A S L E Transactions, 1962The design and development of a high speed journal bearing test rig is described. Test results are presented for water and high temperature liquid potassium lubricated journal bearings. The test program included investigations of bearing torque, lubricant flow rate and stability limits for bearings operating in the laminar regime, through the ...

Laminar flow regime of a condensate in a horizontal annular channel
Journal of Engineering Physics, 1989We present a method for calculating the angle of the rivulet level in the laminar regime encountered in condensation in an annular channel. The theoretical results are compared to the experimental data derived in studying the hydrodynamic and heat exchange in heat-exchange installations of a new type, namely, vapor-dynamic thermosiphons.

Analytical solutions for Bingham plastic fluids in laminar regime
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2011Abstract An analytical approach is used to develop true solutions for calculating the friction factor, and pipe diameter under laminar flow conditions of Bingham plastic fluids in pipe networks. For this, governing equations have been converted to suitable quartic equations.

Condensation on the Surface of a Vertical Plate in a Laminar Flow Regime
2019In this chapter we will consider laminar flow of the condensate film of water vapor on the surface of a vertical plate. Condensation occurs if the water vapor is cooled below its saturation temperature. During condensation, latent heat of condensation is released and is assumed to be transferred from the water vapor–liquid condensate film interface to ...

Affinity of the main separation barameters in laminar and transient regimes
NOVYE OGNEUPORY (NEW REFRACTORIES)The main determining parameters of the process are the separation curves. They can be of two types. Firstly, these are graphical dependencies in coordinates, linking the value of extraction of a narrow size class into a fine product with the flow rate. Secondly, graphs linking the extraction with the particle sizes at a fixed flow rate. All information

On the dispersed two-phase flow in the laminar flow regime
Chemical Engineering Science, 1964Abstract The time dependent, dispersed, two-phase flow problem for the laminar flow regime is considered. In agreement with Burgers ' description of the flow, the analysis takes into account the effect of both the motion and the presence of other particles.
