Magnetic‐Thermal Coupling Analysis of the End Region of a Large Steam Turbine Generator in the Phase Advancing State Based on the Improved TSO and SVR Regression Models

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
In this study, we have developed a 3D magnetic‐thermal simulation model of a 320 MVA steam turbine generator. We explore the significant impact of the armature reaction in the phase advancing state, which leads to increased leakage magnetic fields and fluctuations in the stator end magnetic field.

Study of the Overvoltage and Its Distribution Characteristics in an Oil‐Immersed Iron‐Core Reactor Disconnected by an SF6 Circuit Breaker

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper primarily investigates the patterns of overvoltage changes during an interruption of oil‐immersed iron‐core reactors by circuit breakers and their distribution along the axial windings of the reactor, which optimises the winding structure. ABSTRACT This paper primarily investigates the patterns of overvoltage changes during an interruption ...

Diagonalisation of Coupled Parasitic Inductance Matrix and Equivalent Modelling for SiC Power Modules During Dynamic Current Sharing

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Based on the principle of circuit equivalence, this paper proposes a decoupling calculation method for the coupled parasitic inductance matrix. This method transforms the self‐inductances and complex coupled mutual inductances in the traditional coupled parasitic inductance matrix into single equivalent parasitic inductances.

Investigating Long‐Term Degradation and Defects of Solar Photovoltaic Modules in Tropical Climates: A Case Study of Malaysia

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study investigates the degradation of four monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules after nine years of outdoor exposure in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's tropical climate. Using visual inspection, electroluminescence, and electrical performance analyses, the modules exhibited an average power loss of 40.35%, primarily due to encapsulant ...

Setup for Long‐Term Outdoor Testing of Optically Modified PV Modules Regarding their Thermal and Electrical Behavior Under Load

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 222, Issue 24, December 2025.
A measurement setup is presented for outdoor testing optical modifications of the light‐facing side of photovoltaic modules. The modules are operated under load and precise temperature measurements are enabled by Platinum resistance temperature detectors laminated into the modules.
