Mature leaves possessed higher 1,8‐cineole proportions but contained less total oil than immature leaves. E. bosistoana essential oil of higher quality and quantity can be obtained by harvesting in summer. Abstract Seasonal variations of yield and composition in microwave extracts from mature and immature Eucalyptus bosistoana leaves were monitored for

Thermal response of timber connections in the cooling phase
Abstract Structures are conventionally designed to maintain load‐bearing capacity during the heating phase of a fire. However, in structures with moderate or high thermal inertia, the thermal field which results in the lowest structural resistance is likely to occur after the heating phase.

Deformation stages. Abstract The deformation behavior of prestressed timber beams after a gap opens at the beam‐column interface is evaluated in this study using the compressive stress distribution along the beam length. The correlation between moment at the beam end and beam deformation is studied for three types of specimens.

Engineering Wood Products from Eucalyptus spp.
Forest covers 4.06 billion hectares (ha) or 31% of the total land area worldwide, where 93% (3.75 billion ha) are natural regenerating forests and the remaining 7% (294 million ha) are planted forests. Eucalyptus spp., being one of the most important plantation species, has been planted in 95 countries around the world, and the area of plantation has ...

Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) manufacturing using three hybrid poplar clones
Laminated veneer lumbers (LVLs) were manufactured from veneers of 3 rotary peeled fast growing hybrid poplar clones, I-214 (Populus xeuramericana), I-77/51 (Populus deltoides), and S.307-26 (Populus deltoides), with a phenol formaldehyde (PF) adhesive. Two Populus deltoides clones that are grown in Turkey were used for the first time in LVL production.
