The Mechanical Properties of Laminated Composites Reinforced With Discontinuous and Continuous Different Fibers

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
In this paper we investigate how do the laminated composites behave mechanically when subjected to external stresses, when reinforced with continuous fibers (mat) and discontinuous fibers (chopped) and to find the effect of the fiber type on the ...

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

The Use of Thermally Damaged Wood in Laminated Wood Beam Structures

open access: yesLesnoy Zhurnal (Forestry Journal)
This paper deals with the experimental research results of laminated wood beam structures made using lamellas produced from the pine trees, partially damaged in forest plantations. The purpose of the research has been to study the stress-strain state of laminated wood beam structures utilizing the wood damaged by the thermal exposure caused by a forest

Mechanical and physical properties of Cross-Laminated Timber made from Acacia mangium wood as function of adhesive types

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 2019
In this study, three-layered Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) manufactured from Acacia mangium wood panels were developed by using two different types of adhesives, namely, phenol resorcinol formaldehyde (PRF) and one-component polyurethane (PUR). The aim of

Rhoifolin Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis by Targeting NMNAT1 and Activating SIRT1‐FOXO1 Signaling to Enhance ILC3s Effector Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rhoifolin directly targets NMNAT1, thereby activating nicotinamide salvage pathway and promoting intracellular NAD+ biosynthesis. Elevated NAD+ levels enhance SIRT1 activity, leading to FOXO1 deacetylation and nuclear translocation. Nuclear FOXO1 subsequently binds to the IL‐22 promoter, upregulating IL‐22 transcription and potentiating ILC3 effector ...

Effects of Number of Laminations on Block-Shear and Bending Strengths of Wood Laminates.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1995
To investigate the effects of the number of laminations on the mechanical properties of wood laminates, block-shear and bending tests were made on laminated veneer lumbers composed of 5, 10, 15 and 20 plies of sawn Douglas-fir veneers.A probability theory that “Standard deviation for the mechanical properties of wood laminates with N laminations is ...

Architecture‐Engineered Semi‐Crystalline Microporous Polymer Membranes for Precise Molecular Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Guided by a Random Forest model, a π–π‐driven ordered stacking strategy deploys functionally distinct substructures to restrict chain segment motion and increase free volume, while preserving the intermolecular interactions that maintain structural integrity.

Asymmetric Evolution of Antennal Cell Types Underlies a Derived Ammonia‐Sensing Logic for Ecological Adaptation in Bactrocera dorsalis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative antennal single‐nucleus transcriptomics reveals cell‐type‐dependent transcriptomic divergence in Bactrocera dorsalis, with similar structural cells but divergent sensory neurons. This neuronal diversification is associated with a distinct ammonia‐sensing pathway, linking female attraction to bird‐dropping‐associated cues with nutritional ...
