Evaluation of Eigenvalue Routines for Large Scale Applications

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1994
The NASA structural analysis (NASTRAN∗) program is one of the most extensively used engineering applications software in the world. It contains a wealth of matrix operations and numerical solution techniques, and they were used to construct efficient ...

Low Complexity Precoding Based on Lanczos Method in Massive MIMO System [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2019
Aiming at the problem that the computational complexity of the required matrix inversion of Zero Forcing(ZF) precoding matrix is very high due to the large number of antennas and users in large-scale MIMO systems,a low complexity ZF precoding scheme ...

Lanczos Boosted Numerical Linked-Cluster Expansion for Quantum Lattice Models

open access: yes, 2018
Numerical linked-cluster expansions allow one to calculate finite-temperature properties of quantum lattice models directly in the thermodynamic limit through exact solutions of small clusters.

Impact of hamstring versus quadriceps tendon graft on thigh muscle strength and surface electromyography activity after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare quadriceps tendon (QT) and hamstring tendon (HT) autografts regarding isometric thigh muscle strength, surface electromyography (sEMG) activity and clinical outcomes following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR).

Weighted Block Golub-Kahan-Lanczos Algorithms for Linear Response Eigenvalue Problem

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In order to solve all or some eigenvalues lied in a cluster, we propose a weighted block Golub-Kahan-Lanczos algorithm for the linear response eigenvalue problem. Error bounds of the approximations to an eigenvalue cluster, as well as their corresponding

Simulating a ring-like Hubbard system with a quantum computer

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We develop a workflow to use current quantum computing hardware for solving quantum many-body problems, using the example of the fermionic Hubbard model.

The Anderson model of localization: a challenge for modern eigenvalue methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We present a comparative study of the application of modern eigenvalue algorithms to an eigenvalue problem arising in quantum physics, namely, the computation of a few interior eigenvalues and their associated eigenvectors for the large, sparse, real ...

Windows of opportunity in subseasonal weather regime forecasting: A statistical–dynamical approach

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study explores how the atmospheric state at initialisation creates windows of opportunity for improving week 3 forecasts of weather regime activity. Greenland blocking activity increases following Madden–Julian Oscillation phases 7, 8, and 1 and weak stratospheric polar vortex states, revealing patterns exploitable by statistical models.

SoftNet: A Package for the Analysis of Complex Networks

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2022
Identifying the most important nodes according to specific centrality indices is an important issue in network analysis. Node metrics based on the computation of functions of the adjacency matrix of a network were defined by Estrada and his collaborators

On the Absence of Spurious Eigenstates in an Iterative Algorithm Proposed By Waxman

open access: yes, 2006
We discuss a remarkable property of an iterative algorithm for eigenvalue problems recently advanced by Waxman that constitutes a clear advantage over other iterative procedures.
