Land-Use Planning for Urban Sprawl Based on the CLUE-S Model: A Case Study of Guangzhou, China
In recent years, changes in land use resulting from rapid urbanization or urban sprawl have brought about many negative effects to land ecosystems, and have led to entropy increases.

The division of land on the main intended purpose as a function of land use management in Ukraine
Attribution of lands to categories in Ukraine is considered as one of the areas of the state, as a result of which a category of land, which defines the legal regime of use. Compliance with such a regime is one of the main responsibilities of land users, and its failure may be grounds for bringing such persons to legal liability and termination of ...

A New Insight into Land Use Classification Based on Aggregated Mobile Phone Data [PDF]
Land use classification is essential for urban planning. Urban land use types can be differentiated either by their physical characteristics (such as reflectivity and texture) or social functions. Remote sensing techniques have been recognized as a vital method for urban land use classification because of their ability to capture the physical ...

Log-rank and lifting for AND-functions [PDF]
Let $f: \{0,1\}^n \to \{0, 1\}$ be a boolean function, and let $f_\land (x, y) = f(x \land y)$ denote the AND-function of $f$, where $x \land y$ denotes bit-wise AND. We study the deterministic communication complexity of $f_\land$ and show that, up to a $\log n$ factor, it is bounded by a polynomial in the logarithm of the real rank of the ...

Geometric multi‐bit patterning based on dynamic wetting and dewetting phenomena creates roulette‐like Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) labels with stochastic yet deterministic properties. This method leverages the solutal‐Marangoni effect for high randomness while achieving deterministic multinary patterns through polygonal confinement of binary ...

Mapping mobile service usage diversity in cities [PDF]
The ubiquitous use of mobile devices and associated Internet services generates vast volumes of geolocated data, offering valuable insights into human behaviors and their interactions with urban environments. Over the past decade, mobile phone data have proven indispensable in various fields such as demography, geography, transport planning, and ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Land management mechanism, its tasks and functions
The concept of a land management mechanism as a set of tools and levers, the coordinated interaction of which provides influence on the formation and development of land use, has been proposed.

Land-use intensification effects on functional properties in tropical plant communities [PDF]
AbstractThere is consensus that plant diversity and ecosystem processes are negatively affected by land‐use intensification (LUI), but, at the same time, there is empirical evidence that a large heterogeneity can be found in the responses. This heterogeneity is especially poorly understood in tropical ecosystems. We evaluated changes in community ...
