MODIS and Landsat TM scaling study on the evapotranspiration at mid-latitude

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
The sensible heat flux in a landscape at mid-latitude is calculated based on MODIS and Landsat TM satellite scenes. An aggregation model is used for the surface flux calculation. Satellite-based input maps from satellite on land cover type, leaf area index and radiant surface temperature are used.

Grossflächige Landnutzungsbestimmung Aus Landsat-5-TM-Daten

1989

Landsat TM analysis of vineyards in New York

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1989
Abstract New York State vineyards could not be reliably identified through spectral classification of early- or late-season Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data. Mid-season TM data should be tested and supplemented with contextual information and post-classification smoothing.

Automation of precise ortho-rectification of Landsat TM images

Proceedings of the 41st SICE Annual Conference. SICE 2002., 2003
In the conventional scheme of geometric correction, the selection of ground control points (GCPs) is a major obstacle to automation of geometric correction. The author proposed to use the correlation between ortho-rectified satellite image and simulated shading relief image made from DEM as the evaluation function for optimizing the geometric ...

Landsat TM and ETM+ thermal band calibration

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Landsat-5 Thematic Mapper (TM) has been imaging the Earth since March 1984 and Landsat-7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) was added to the series of Landsat instruments in April 1999. The stability and calibration of the ETM+ has been monitored extensively since launch. Though not monitored for many years, TM now has a similar system in place

Lithology Discrimination in Foreland Basin with Landsat TM

Journal of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing, 2011
The Kahramanmaras Foreland Basin (KFB) margins are formed by Paleozoic-Mesozoic limestone, metamorphic and ophiolite. This basin contains sandstone and claystone alternations with lesser amounts of reefal limestone, channelized conglomerates, debrites and slump deposits.

Operational Atmospheric Correction of Landsat TM Data

Remote Sensing of Environment, 1999
The recent algorithms developed for biophysical variables assessment require accurate surface reflectance measurements. This article describes algorithms used for atmospheric correction of Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data. Atmospheric corrections include Rayleigh scattering, gaseous absorption, and aerosol scattering in three visible channels (480 nm,

Spectral and spatial decorrelation of Landsat-TM data for lossless compression

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1995
Presents some new techniques of spectral and spatial decorrelation in lossless data compression of remotely sensed imagery. These techniques provide methods to efficiently compute the optimal band combination and band ordering based on the statistical properties of Landsat-TM data.

Relationship between altitude and LST derived from Landsat-TM

2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013
Surface temperature is one of the most important parameter for estimating the effect of climatic change on glaciers and it is a key requirement for input to energy balance models. For the Indian Himalayas, such measurements are scarce and difficult to obtain. Weather station network is very sparse and mostly weather stations are established near around

A strategy for mapping Canada's Forest biomass with Landsat TM imagery

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
Estimates of forest biomass are needed to meet Canada's international reporting requirements and to provide important inputs for global change, carbon accounting, and forest productivity models. The Canadian Forest Service, in cooperation with the Canadian Space Agency, has developed a strategy for mapping Canada's forest biomass as part of the Earth ...
