LANDSAT TM imagery for alteration identification
LANDSAT Thematic Mapper (TM) data can be used to map altered rocks given the right geological environment. This paper briefly reviews spectral reflectance theory as it applies to the detection of different minerals and presents an example of how this theory can be applied to LANDSAT TM data.

Unmixing-Based Landsat TM and MERIS FR Data Fusion
An unmixing-based data fusion technique is used to generate images that have the spatial resolution of Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) and the spectral resolution provided by the Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) sensor. The method requires the optimization of the following two parameters: the number of classes used to classify the TMimage ...

ABSTRACT Coal remains a major global energy source despite ongoing environmental controversies, particularly, regarding climate change and landscape transformation. This study investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics of land use and land cover (LULC) in the Moatize Coal Basin (MCB), Mozambique, between 1990 and 2024, with a specific focus on land ...

Multitemporal fusion of Landsat/TM and ENVISAT/MERIS for crop monitoring
Abstract Monitoring Earth dynamics using current and future satellites is one of the most important objectives of the remote sensing community. The exploitation of image time series from sensors with different characteristics provides new opportunities to increase the knowledge about environmental changes and to support many operational applications.

Cycles of dieback and recovery drove mangrove forest dynamics at the Albert and Leichhardt Rivers (Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia) over 36 years (1987–2023). Landward margins were the most affected by reduced tidal inundation when the alignment of low lunar declination suppressed tidal range and extreme El Niño phases lowered mean sea level.

ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, the intensification of global warming has brought increased attention to urban thermal dynamics, particularly regarding Land Surface Temperature (LST) and the Urban Surface Heat Island (SUHI) effect. This study conducts a systematic literature review alongside a bibliometric analysis of 123 peer‐reviewed articles ...

Landsat TM Memory Effect Characterization and Correction
