Effects of Landslide Sampling Strategies on the Prediction Skill of Landslide Susceptibility Modelings

In this study, landslide susceptibility assessments were achieved using logistic regression, in a 523 km2 area around the Eastern Mediterranean region of Southern Turkey. In reliable landslide susceptibility modeling, among others, an appropriate landslide sampling technique is always essential.

The glacierized Valle Frías in Northern Patagonia is one of the best‐studied valleys in South America and includes varved sediments from Lago Frías. We complement this lacustrine record with a high‐resolution documentation of varve counts and their composition.

Incorporating light pollution into projections of the future distribution of Aspisoma sticticum Gemminger, 1870 under climate change in South America

Climate‐only models predict severe habitat contractions by 2100, especially in the Amazon, Cerrado and Caatinga, while southern and coastal Atlantic Forest areas remain refugial. Including artificial light at night increased projected stability and apparent suitability gains, especially in central and eastern South America.

Natural disaster risk salience and the strategic appointment of directors with sustainability expertise

Abstract This article examines how salient sustainability risks from near‐miss natural disasters influence board composition. Using a difference‐in‐differences design, I find that firms located in counties neighboring disaster‐affected areas significantly increase the presence of directors with sustainability expertise following the disaster.
