REMARKS ON THE AGE OF THE LIMESTONES OF SOUTHEASTERN JAVA (INDONESIA)
The present paper deals with the age assignment of the limestones (Wonosari Formation) cropping out in the East Southern Mountains of South East Java (Indonesia), based on the foraminiferal assemblages observed in several limestone samples from that area.

Propagación del frente de la deformación y reparto de la deformación miocena dentro del cinturón de pliegues y cabalgamientos de las Béticas Centrales [PDF]
The External Zones of migrating orogenic arcs can be deformed as fold-and-thrust belts where the advance of the deformation front toward the foreland is contemporary to the arc-lengthening.

A review of the fossil record of old world turtles of the clade pan-trionychidae [PDF]
Turtles of the clade Pan-Trionychidae have a rich fossil record in the Old World, ranging from the Early Cretaceous (Hauterivian) to the Holocene. The clade most probably originated in Asia during the Early Cretaceous but spread from there to the ...

Abstract Coralline algae are key benthic components of shallow‐marine ecosystems globally and as habitat‐formers they support high biodiversity levels. Experiments on living coralline algae show internal growth changes in response to warming and higher CO2.

Miocene deep-water agglutinated Foraminifera from ODP Hole 909c: Implications for the paleoceanography of the Fram Strait Area, Greenland Sea [PDF]
Deep-water agglutinated Foraminifera (DWAF) are investigated from Miocene sediments recovered from ODP Hole 909C in the Fram Strait, Norwegian-Green land Sea. We studied 125 samples from Cores 909C-50R to -103R. and recovered over 60 species of DWAF. The

A Cenozoic Shift From Extensional to Strike‐Slip Tectonics in the Central Mediterranean Sea
Abstract High‐resolution 3D seismic reflection data, structural interpretations and expansion index analyses are combined in this work to explain the mechanisms that drove a newly discovered shift from extensional to strike‐slip tectonics in the central Mediterranean region. In the Crotone Basin, Early Pliocene extension predominated at first as proven

Paleomagnetic results of Tertiary sediments from Corsica: evidence of post-Eocene rotation [PDF]
Middle Eocene (Lutetian) and Lower to Middle Miocene (Burdigalian-Langhian) sediments from Corsica have been investigated in a paleomagnetic study to constrain the amount and timing of tectonic rotation of the Corsican block with respect to Sardinia and ...

The data and interpretations of this study are used to test the proposal by Goldhammer et al. that a ‘stratigraphy of early diagenesis’ is operational in carbonate depositional systems. What this means is that distinct mineralogical and geochemical changes to rock and sediment occur associated with external controls, such as the rise and fall of sea ...

Constraint on foreland basin migration in the Zagros mountain belt using Sr isotope stratigraphy [PDF]
We have constrained the time-space migration of the Zagros foredeep basin by performing Sr isotope stratigraphy on 31 samples of marine macrofossils from Neogene sediments now exposed in the Zagros mountain belt in southwest Iran.
