Structural Investigation of Langmuir and Langmuir−Blodgett Monolayers of Semifluorinated Alkanes
The behavior of a semi-fluorinated alkane (C(10)F(21)C(19)H(39)) has been studied at the air-water interface by using surface pressure and surface potential-area isotherms as well as infrared spectroscopy for the Langmuir-Blodgett films. In addition, based on the quantum chemical PM3 semiempirical approach, the dimer structure was investigated, and the

Extraction of Antimicrobial Peptides From Fava Bean Protein Hydrolyzate by Phosphorylated Biochar
Antimicrobial peptides were extracted by functional biochar in one step. The enriched peptides demonstrated significantly enhanced antibacterial activity. ABSTRACT The extraction of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) from plant proteins remains challenging due to their low abundance, structural diversity, and the need for mild, efficient, and selective ...

The molecular interactions of monolayers composed of cyclic and linear forms of surfactins (SFs) were evaluated through atomic force microscopy (AFM) together with a Langmuir monolayer technique. The surface pressure (π)-area per molecule (A) isotherm of a pure cyclic surfactin (CSF) monolayer exhibited a liquid expanded (Le) monolayer, while that of a

Estimation of Specific Surface Area using Langmuir Isotherm Method
A comparison of four widely used linear equations of the Langmuir types of isotherm (The Langmuir Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 ) were examined in an experiment using dye sorption onto derived acid and salt treated Fish Activated Carbon (H3PO4-FAC and ZnCl2-FAC ...

Sulfonated polystyrene films with different degrees of sulfonation were fabricated using Langmuir–Schaefer and drop‐casting techniques. Both the deposition method and sulfonation level strongly affect film morphology and electrical response, governing the performance of these materials as ammonia gas sensors.

Photonic nanovoids for tailored optoelectronic response in silicon solar cells
Optoelectronic workflow followed by experimental validation, demonstrating state‐of‐the‐art efficiency gains. Abstract As crystalline silicon (c‐Si) solar cells become thinner to reduce cost and weight, the optical design principles that govern light trapping (LT) must evolve.

Influence of the isolation method of the soapstockfatty component on its characteristics
From soapstock, which is a waste product of sunflower oil production, the fatty component was isolated using isopropyl alcohol, toluene, fusel oil and a mixture of common salt and nonionic surfactants.

On the Interaction between Digitonin and Cholesterol in Langmuir Monolayers
In this article, we describe the effect of a highly hemolytic saponin, digitonin, on model lipids cholesterol and dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) using a combination of tensiometric (surface pressure and dilatational surface elasticity), spectroscopic (infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy, IRRAS), microscopic (fluorescence microscopy), and
