A visual tool for using design patterns as pattern languages
Proceedings of the International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces, 2010Design patterns document successful solutions to recurrent problems in a specific software development domain. However, finding the patterns you need can be difficult, often requiring the designer to comprehend a long narrative description to understand the benefits, implications and trade-offs of each pattern and of its relationships with others.

Linguistic Incorporation: Patterns of Language Use
2009The issue of language proficiency is central to the articulation of international migrants and their children within the social structures of the countries to which they have migrated. As Portes and Rumbaut (2006) argued forcefully in the above quotation, proficiency in the English language is a sine qua non of the possibility of living successfully in

Rewriting Natural Language Queries Using Patterns
2015In this paper, a method based on pre-defined patterns, which rewrites natural language queries into a multi-layer, flexible, scalable and object-oriented query language, is presented. The method has been conceived to assist physicians in their search for clinical information in an Electronic Health Records system.

A pattern language for use cases specification
Proceedings of the 20th European Conference on Pattern Languages of Programs, 2015Use cases describe a set of interactions between actors/users and the system under study. These interactions should be described textually according to some style and template to be simultaneously readable, consistent and verifiable. The main reason for these qualities is that use cases specification should be used both by business analysts and ...

Patterns of language use in Malawi
2023This paper reports on results of a sociolinguistic investigation on patterns of language use in Malawi. The analysis which was limited to seven domains of interaction revealed two main patterns of language use. One pattern involving intraethnic or ingroup communication encoded ethnic identity, familiarity and traditional status quo.

Patterns of parental language use in wales
Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, 1991This paper reports the language use of some 400 mothers in North Wales and their partners. The sample was divided into five types of couple, both mainly Welsh speaking, only father Welsh speaking, only mother Welsh speaking, both mainly English speaking, and couples where both have always used a mixture of Welsh and English.

A Pattern Language for Use Case Modeling
Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development, 2014Use case driven software development typically starts with abstract problem domain descriptions of how the users see themselves using the system being developed, and entails a series of iterative refinement steps that incrementally detail the user stories/use case model, in order to bring those descriptions to the solution domain. This process tends to

Case study - using stil as test pattern language
International Test Conference, 2003. Proceedings. ITC 2003., 2004This paper describes the implementation of a test pattern language using STIL [1], the IEEE Standard Test Interface Language (1450-1999), in a next generation, open architecture Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platform. The advantages of this approach in extensibility and easy interface with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for the ATE user are ...

Tokenizer for the Malay language using pattern matching
2014 14th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2014Tokenization is a fundamental task focused on text processing. Among other tasks, the segmentation process is used to identify information units, such as sentences and words. In this paper, we discuss the Natural Language ToolKit (NLTK) tokenizer as a step to manipulate patterns within text.
