Lanthanum and silver nitrate mixed titrants laid to rest
Microchemical Journal, 1985A pyrolytic graphite sensor conditioned in neutral permanganate and previously reported has been used in a study of the titration of all four halogens in a single titration with a mixed titrant of lanthanum (II) and silver nitrates. This sensor was found to be able to differentiate F/sup -/ and total X/sup -/ but could not differentiate between the ...

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2017
Abstract Interaction behavior of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate (UNH) and lanthanum nitrate hexahydrate (LaNH) have been investigated on the mixtures in different molar ratios of the two precursors and monitoring the reactions at elevated temperatures with thermoanalytical and X-ray diffraction measurement techniques.

Temperatures attainable by adiabatic demagnetization of cerium–lanthanum–magnesium nitrates
Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1980A new expression is derived for the final temperature Tf attainable by adiabatic demagnetization of a paramagnetic salt to a zero intensity of the external magnetic field. This expression, based on the first three terms in the high-temperature van Vleck series expansion of the magnetic entropy Sm, takes into account dipole–dipole interaction of ...

Synthesis and Some Properties of Sols Prepared by Hydrolysis of Lanthanum Nitrate
Colloid Journal, 2001The procedure for synthesis of hydrosols by hydrolysis of lanthanum nitrate was developed. The range of pH values was established corresponding to the maximum aggregation stability of sols. The photon-correlation spectroscopy was applied to determine the average hydrodynamic radius of sol particles, equal to 50 nm. The thresholds of fast coagulation of

X-Ray crystal structure of a cryptate complex of lanthanum nitrate
Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1978An X-ray crystal structure determination shows that the complex cations in [La(NO3)2{N(CH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH2)3N}]3[La(NO3)6] contain a lanthanum ion co-ordinated to eight cryptate donor atoms together with two bidentate nitrate ions, the cryptate ligand being somewhat distorted to accommodate the latter.
