Initial Distance‐Dependent Mean Force Drives Synaptic Vesicle Motion Toward Fusion Sites in Stimulated Hippocampal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synaptic vesicle (SV) motion and exocytosis dynamics in the presynaptic terminals of live neurons are intimately linked to synaptic transmission during neuronal activity. In this work, it is revealed that, during electrical stimulation, SVs located farther from their fusion sites exhibit greater straightness and experience larger mean forces directed ...

Water‐Efficient Smart Drip Irrigation Enabled by a Low‐Power and High‐Efficiency Flexible Electromagnetic Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.

Bio‐Based Wax Interfaces for Droplet Energy Harvesting at Fluoropolymer‐Like Output Levels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Replacing unsustainable fluorinated polymers in droplet‐based energy harvesters is usually limited by low power outputs, but carefully selected bio‐based polymers are capable of creating fluoropolymer‐like voltage outputs. Abstract Droplet impact and rebound on solid surfaces has emerged as a promising method for energy harvesting, typically ...

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Active Thermal Metasurfaces Enable Superscattering of Thermal Signatures Across Arbitrary Shapes and Thermal Conductivities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a thermal superscatterer capable of manipulating thermal scattering signatures far exceeding the actual scale of objects. Utilizing transformation thermotics and active thermal metasurfaces, the device reproduces the thermal scattering signature of the enlarged thermal scatterer.

On the integral equation of an adjoint boundary value problem of heat conduction

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы, 2019
An integral equation is considered, to which a nonhomogeneous first boundary value problem with an adjoint heat conduction operator is reduced. The problem is set in an infinite plane angle, that is, a boundary of the domain moves with a constant ...

Wearable Cooling Textiles of Thermal Conduction and Sweat Transfer for Personal Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructs a three‐dimensional thermal‐conductive pathway using biomass‐based fibers. The thermally conductive composite fibers were designed into Janus‐structured fabrics. The wearable cooling textile exhibits unidirectional moisture‐wicking properties (476% index), a high water evaporation rate (5209.92 g/m2/day), and effective skin ...
