Effect of Lap Length and Stiffness of Peel-Stop Fasteners in Single Lap Joints [PDF]
Strength tests on single lap joints with one adhesive (AV138/HV998) and one adhesive layer thickness (0.5 mm), three peel stoppers (brass bolt, nylon bolt and steel pin), and four lap lengths (12.5 mm, 25 mm, 40 mm and 100 mm) were conducted to investigate the effects of varying the lap length and stiffness of the peel-stop fasteners.

Influence of Reinforcement Length on Singularity of Single‐Lap Joints [PDF]
In order to enhance the strength of single‐lap joints, the single‐lap joints with reinforcements were proposed. The influence of reinforcement length on the singular behavior near to the interface point of single‐lap joints was investigated theoretically and numerically.

Simplified Design Equation of Lap Splice Length in Compression [PDF]
With the emergence of ultra-high strength of concrete, the compression lap splice has become an important area of interest. According to ACI 318-08, a compression splice can be longer than a tension splice when high-strength concrete is used. By reevaluating the test results of compression splices and performing regression analysis, a simplified design

Characteristics of Friction Stir Lap Welded A5052 with Probe Length [PDF]
The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has mainly been used for making butt joints in Al alloys. The development of Friction Stir Lap Welding (FSLW) would expand the number of applications. In this study, for effective application on thin aluminum alloy lap joint, non-heat treatment A5052 alloys were joined by FSLW with the length of probe 2.3 mm and 3.0 mm ...

The lap configurations and pin lengths have important influences on the joint quality and performance in Al-to-Mg friction stir lap welding (FSLW). But how these two factors affect the thermo-mechanical process in Al-to-Mg FSLW remains unclear. In this study, a computational fluid dynamics model considering the effects of local liquation, tool adhesive
