Lapping Pattern, Stock Length, and Shop Drawing of Beam Reinforcements of an RC Building
Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, 2015AbstractThe purpose of this study is to develop an automation platform that particularly emphases the beam reinforcements of a continuous beam of an RC building and automatically checks all designs to ensure that the arrangements of reinforcements comply with the American Concrete Institute code.

The variable-length generalized lapped biorthogonal transform
Proceedings 1998 International Conference on Image Processing. ICIP98 (Cat. No.98CB36269), 2002This paper introduces a class of linear phase lapped biorthogonal transforms with basis functions of variable length (VLGLBT). The transform can be characterized by a lattice which structurally enforces both linear phase and perfect reconstruction properties as well as provides a fast and efficient transform implementation.

On lap splice length of lap-spliced crossties for reinforced concrete columns under cyclic loading
Advances in Structural Engineering, 2020A lap-spliced crosstie comprises two J-shaped rebars, each with a 180° hook at one end and straight at the other end. Six large reinforced concrete columns subjected to lateral cyclic loading were tested. The results indicated the following: (1) the confining effect of horizontally lap-spliced crossties is similar to that of vertically lap-spliced ...

A novel class of variable-length lapped transform for image coding
Proceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004The theory and design for a novel class of a variable-length lapped transform are presented. In this class, the synthesis filter bank is firstly defined with arbitrary combination of FIR filters, giving much freedom of design compared to previously presented variable-length lapped transforms.

Numerical Study of the Effective Lap-Splice Length of FRCM Composites
2021Fiber (or fabric) reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) composites represent an attractive alternative to fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites as externally bonded reinforcement (EBR) of existing reinforced concrete (RC) and masonry structural members. Although FRCM composites generally provide lower mechanical properties than FRP composites, they

New Model for the Lap-Splice Length of Tensile Reinforcement in Concrete Elements
Journal of Structural Engineering, 2021AbstractIn this study, a model is proposed to determine the required lap-splice length in RC beams using a multilayer genetic programming machine learning (MLGPML) algorithm.

Generalized unequal length lapped orthogonal transform for subband image coding
2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2000In this paper, generalized linear phase lapped orthogonal transforms with unequal length basis functions (GULLOT) are considered. The length of each basis of the proposed GULLOT can be different from each other, while all the bases of the conventional GenLOT are of equal length.

Generalized lapped orthogonal transform with unequal-length basis functions
Proceedings of 1997 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Circuits and Systems in the Information Age ISCAS '97, 2002In this paper, the theory, design, and implementation of the Generalized Lapped Orthogonal Transform (GenLOT) with unequal-length basis functions are investigated. Necessary constraints on the building blocks which lead to the reduction of the degrees of design freedom is explained along with other trade-offs.
