Diffusion lengths in epitaxial GaAs by angle lapped junction method

Solid-State Electronics, 1965
Abstract The technique for moving a tiny spot of light along the surface of an angle-lapped incline of a p - n junction has been extended to epitaxial p on n GaAs to determine minority carrier diffusion lengths from photocurrent measurements. Typical values are between 0·5 and 2·0 μ.

Tension Lap Splice Length in High-Strength Concrete Flexural Members

Journal of the Korea Concrete Institute, 2009
This paper presents the test results of total 24 beam-end specimens to investigate the effect of high-strength con- crete and cover thickness on the development resistance capacity in tensile lap splice length regions. Based on bond characteristics that an increase in concrete strength results in higher bond stress and shortening of the transfer length,

Variable-length lapped transforms with a combination of multiple synthesis filter banks for image coding

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2006
A class of lapped transforms for image coding, which are characterized by variable-length synthesis filters, is introduced. In this class, the synthesis filter bank (FB) is first defined with an arbitrary combination of finite impulse response synthesis filters of perfect reconstruction FBs. An analysis FB is then obtained using direct matrix inversion

On the determination of diffusion lengths by means of angle-lapped P-N junctions

Solid-State Electronics, 1979
A standard procedure for determining the minority carrier diffusion length by means of SEM consists of scanning an angle-lapped surface of a p-n junction and measuring the resulting short circuit current as a function of beam position. The present paper points out that the usual expression linking the short circuit current induced by the electron beam ...

Tension development length and lap splice design for reinforced concrete members

Progress in Structural Engineering and Materials, 2005
AbstractThe key factors that govern development (anchorage) and splice performance of reinforcing bars in tension are described. The bond design provisions of the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) Bridge Design Specifications, the American Concrete Institute Building ...

Lap Splice Length and Fatigue Performance of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Laminates

ACI Materials Journal, 2002
When carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates are used in strengthening long structural members, lap splicing is usually adopted for the transition of forces. Determination of the effective lap splice length and its fatigue performance is of importance.
