WRF-LES Simulation of the Boundary Layer Turbulent Processes during the BLLAST Campaign
A real case long-term nested large eddy simulation (LES) of 25-day duration is performed using the WRF-LES modelling system, with a maximum horizontal grid resolution of 111 m, in order to explore the ability of the model to reproduce the turbulence ...

Large Eddy Simulation for Dispersed Bubbly Flows: A Review
Large eddy simulations (LES) of dispersed gas-liquid flows for the prediction of flow patterns and its applications have been reviewed. The published literature in the last ten years has been analysed on a coherent basis, and the present status has been ...

Numerical simulation of flow separation over a backward-facing step with high Reynolds number
Large eddy simulation (LES) explicitly calculates the large-scale vortex field and parameterizes the small-scale vortices. In this study, LES and κ-ε models were developed for a specific geometrical configuration of backward-facing step (BFS).

Cryo‐EM analysis reveals an asymmetric MMOH–MMOB complex with distinct protomers, where MMOB binding triggers structural rearrangements from the surface to the active site. This conformational asymmetry shortens the Fe···Fe distance to 2.7 Å in one protomer, forming a geometry suitable for O2 activation and supporting a sequential catalytic mechanism ...

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

This study introduces an innovative interpenetrating layered structure, comprising alternating aramid nanofiber (ANF) layers and MXene layers, fabricated through a directional freeze–thaw intercalation–gel‐film formation strategy. Unlike traditional homogeneous layered films, this unique layered structure features mutually embedded conductive and ...

A Low‐Permeability TEMPO‐Phosphate as an Anionic Posolyte for Aqueous Redox‐Flow Batteries
Phosphate groups are appended to TEMPO‐based active materials for use in aqueous redox‐flow batteries. In addition to improving water‐solubility, these dianionic groups are strongly repelled by the cation‐exchange membrane, thus greatly reducing TEMPO crossover.
