Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Optimal investment and asymmetric risk for a large portfolio: a large deviations approach [PDF]
In this study, we propose a new method based on the large deviations theory to select an optimal investment for a large portfolio such that the risk, which is defined as the probability that the portfolio return underperforms an investable benchmark, is ...

Large Deviation Bounds of the Aggregate Claims Under Varying Tail Distributions
The study of tail behaviour of insurance claims is very essential to the work of actuaries, as it helps in proper reserving and timely claim payout when it becomes necessary.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Multidimensional large deviation local limit theorems [PDF]
An earlier paper by the author (Chaganty and Sethuraman, Ann. of Probab.13 (1985), 97–114) established large deviation local limit theorems for arbitrary sequences of real valued random variables.

Research on the key technology of Turkish gas storage shaft [PDF]
The construction procedure of the gas storage well is complicated, and each technical index request is extremely high, does not allow any mistake. The well deviation is difficult to control. Because of the large dip angle of formation, it is difficult to

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
