GMD-Based Hybrid Beamforming for Large Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Assisted Millimeter-Wave Massive MIMO

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is considered to be an energy-efficient approach to reshape the wireless environment for improved throughput. Its passive feature greatly reduces the energy consumption, which makes RIS a promising technique for ...

Design of Near-Field Beamforming for Large Intelligent Surfaces

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2022
In this paper, we propose a novel three-dimensional (3D) near-field beamforming (BF) design for Large Intelligent Surface (LIS). We firstly investigate the definitions of near-field and far-field of LIS, and derive the Fresnel near-field region where amplitudes variations are negligible and only phase variations worsen the harvested array-gains.

Real-Time Implementation Aspects of Large Intelligent Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesICASSP 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2020
With the potential to provide a clean break from massive multiple-input multiple-output, large intelligent surfaces (LISs) have recently received a thrust of research interest. Various proposals have been made in the literature to define the exact functionality of LISs, ranging from fully active to largely passive solutions.

The Intelligent Control System and Experiments for an Unmanned Wave Glider. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The control system designing of Unmanned Wave Glider (UWG) is challenging since the control system is weak maneuvering, large time-lag and large disturbance, which is difficult to establish accurate mathematical model.

Covert communication in relay and RIS networks

open access: yesSecurity and Safety, 2023
Covert communication aims to prevent the warden from detecting the presence of communications, i.e. with a negligible detection probability. When the distance between the transmitter and the legitimate receiver is large, large transmission power is ...
