Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Learning from topology: cosmological parameter estimation from the large-scale structure

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
The topology of the large-scale structure of the Universe contains valuable information on the underlying cosmological parameters. While persistent homology can extract this topological information, the optimal method for parameter estimation from the ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Electromagnetic transmission problems with a large parameter in weighted Sobolev spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
We present an a priori estimate for an electromagnetic transmission problem in unbounded exterior domains in R^3. We consider Maxwell's equations in two sub-domains, the bounded interior representing a conducting material (metal) and the unbounded ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Geometric Parameter Identification of Large Bent Pipes Using a Single-View Vision System

open access: yesSensors
This paper describes methods of determining important measurement parameters of large bent pipes with diameters of up to 1.2 m for heavy industry, which can be obtained instantly from a vision system.

Nuisance parameters for large galaxy surveys

open access: yes, 2016
These notes are based on a lecture given at the 2016 Euclid Summer School in Narbonne. I will first give a quick overview of the concept of nuisance parameters in the context of large galaxy surveys. The second part will examine the case study of intrinsic alignments, a potential important contamination of weak lensing observables.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.
