The Trichinella Super‐Pangenome Reveals the Evolution of Encapsulation and Predicted Host–Parasite Protein Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Redescription of Immature Stages of Phyllophaga menetriesi (Blanchard) (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae) and its Distribution in the Colombian Andean Mountains Redescripción de inmaduros y distribución de la Chisa Phyllophaga menetriesi (Blanchard) en los Andes colombianos. (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae)

open access: yesActa Agronómica, 2006

To facilitate their recognition, the larvae, pupae, and adults of the rhizophage Phyllophaga menetriesi were described. Taxonomic keys were also prepared for immature stages of this pest, which are also commonly known as ...

Effects of water-borne copper on the survival, antioxidant status, metallothionein-I mRNA expression and physiological responses of the Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis (Decapoda: Brachyura) larvae

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2014
The lethal concentration of water-borne copper in Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis larvae was tested by exposing the animals to 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8 mg Cu L-1 at 20°C for 96 h.

Entomopathogenic fungi, Metarhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana reduce the survival of Xenopsylla brasiliensis larvae (Siphonaptera: Pulicidae). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Entomopathogenic fungi, particularly those belonging to the genera Metarhizium and Beauveria have shown great promise as arthropod vector control tools. These agents, however, have not been evaluated against flea vectors of plague.

Glomage: A Multimodal Platform for High‐Content Morphological and RNA Profiling of Glomeruli in Zebrafish and Mouse Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding how glomeruli, the kidney's filtration units, function in intact tissue remains challenging. Glomage enables rapid 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of entire glomeruli from zebrafish larvae and mice. This approach allows scalable cell quantification and detection of structural changes, advancing kidney disease research and ...

The effect of a 24-hour photoperiod on the survival, growth and swim bladder inflation of pre-flexion yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) larvae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The effects of two different continuous photoperiod regimes on survival, growth and swim bladder inflation of pre-flexion yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) larvae were investigated. Each photoperiod regime was tested twice with a different larval cohort

DTX3L Inhibits the EMT, Metastasis, and Stem‐Like Features of Gastric Cancer Through Promoting GSK‐3β Dependent SNAI1 Decay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research identifies DTX3L as a critical tumor suppressor that inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion and metastasis in gastric cancer. By functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, DTX3L targets the master EMT regulator SNAI1 for GSK‐3β‐dependent proteasomal degradation.

Resistance Stability of the Secondary Tiller of \u27Caldwell\u27 Wheat After the Primary Culm Was Infested With Virulent Hessian Fly (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) Larvae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Secondary tiller resistance of \u27Caldwell\u27 wheat, Triticum aestivum, with the H6 gene for larval resistance to Hessian fly, Mayetiola destructor, was maintained, after the primary culm had been previously infested with virulent larvae.

Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

Larvae of Nearshore Fishes in Oceanic Waters near Oahu, Hawaii [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Larvae of over 50 families of nearshore fishes were taken in oceanic waters about 13 km offshore of the leeward (southwest) coast of Oahu, Hawaii during 1977-78, The five most frequently taken families (Labridae, Parapercidae, Serranidae, Gobiidae, and ...
