BH‐PDN is a red‐emissive fluorescent probe that enables methylglyoxal (MGO) detection via a ring‐closure‐triggered turn‐on response. Probe‐based imaging uncovered prominent MGO buildup in Arabidopsis thaliana roots exposed to salinity, extreme temperatures and drought.
