Prevalence of Gastrointestinal Parasitic Infections in Captive Snakes, Bangladesh
This study documented gastrointestinal parasitic infections in captive venomous and non‐venomous snakes in Bangladesh for the first time, finding an overall prevalence of 39.1%, with helminths more common than protozoa. Non‐venomous snakes and juveniles were most susceptible, while controlled terrarium housing reduced risk, highlighting the need for ...

The helminth TGF‐β mimic TGM4 activates SMAD signaling in macrophages and T cells through canonical TGF‐β receptors and the CD44 co‐receptor, through Domains 1–5 (D1‐5). In fibroblasts, which express lower levels of CD44, TGM4 binds but does not transduce a signal; furthermore, it inhibits activation by agonist ligands such as TGF‐β itself, in a manner

Studies of chronic ulcers and larval therapy
Our aims in this study were to learn more about chronic ulcer pathogenesis (Paper I) and larval therapy (Paper II-V).Materials and methods: Paper I: 26 bacterial isolates of P. aeruginosa from chronic ulcers were examined by PCR technique for detection of the genes of two virulence factors (elastase and alkaline proteinase).

ABSTRACT In endemic regions where simultaneous larval tick bites frequently occur, early identification of tick species from eschar lesions may substantially influence presymptomatic clinical triage. We report a 78‐year‐old woman who was found after approximately 24 h of wandering, presenting with multiple clustered eschars on the lower extremities and
