Laser Doppler Flowmetry in Animals
2012This chapter will describe the technique known as laser Doppler fl owmetry and its use in animals. Because the technique is based on light, it permits noninvasive measurements of perfusion in a tissue that can be illuminated, but perhaps its greatest strength is that it provides a continuous measurement.

A critical review of laser Doppler flowmetry
Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 1990Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) is now a well-established, non-invasive technique for measuring microvascular blood perfusion. However, there are a number of factors which can seriously affect the interpretation of the laser Doppler signal which are often not considered during routine use.

Laser Doppler flowmetrie on small animal
Acta Ophthalmologica, 2014AbstractWe present a compact fundus camera designed to measure the blood flow in small animals based on laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF). The small animal is immobilized on a modified stereotaxic table and the pupil of the LDF device is superposed by translation to the pupil’s eye of the animal.

Semi-Invasive Laser-Doppler Flowmetry Technique
International Journal of Microcirculation, 1997A small-bowel manometry tube was supplied with two single-fiber micro-probes, which recorded blood flow in the proximal small intestine by the laser-Doppler flowmetry (LDF) technique.

Laser Doppler Flowmetry and Fetal Oxygenation
1992Due to the inaccessibility of the fetus, continuous direct monitoring of the carotid arterial blood pH and gas values is not yet feasible. Information on the fetal arterial pH and blood gas values can be obtained from the capillary circulation of the presenting part, usually the fetal scalp.

Laser doppler flowmetry in neurosurgery
1991Laser Doppler Flowmeter (LDF) is a new, reliable and simple method to monitor regional Cerebral Blood Flow (RCBF). Our group began to perform intraoperative LD recordings in 1986. Recently, the advent of new special probes and the use of computer techniques, allowed two important improvements: an easy and safe postoperative LDF monitoring in Intensive ...

History of Laser-Doppler Blood Flowmetry
1990The best-known applications of the Doppler principle in biology and medicine are a series of different techniques for assessing blood flow from the Doppler shift that sound waves experience when they travel through the blood flowing in a relatively large blood vessel.
