Evaluation of the performance of ChatGPT‐4 and ChatGPT‐4o as a learning tool in endodontics

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and consistency of responses given by two different versions of Chat Generative Pre‐trained Transformer (ChatGPT), ChatGPT‐4, and ChatGPT‐4o, to multiple‐choice questions prepared from undergraduate endodontic education topics at different times of the day and on different days ...

Vascular function and cardiovascular risk factors in women with severe flushing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Seventy per cent of postmenopausal women suffer from hot flushes causing significant morbidity in 25%. Oestrogen replacement provides symptom relief, but its use has declined following safety issues and there is, as yet, no good alternative ...

Body Mass Index Is Associated With Microvascular Endothelial Dysfunction in Patients With Treated Metabolic Risk Factors and Suspected Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2017
BackgroundObesity is key feature of the metabolic syndrome and is associated with high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Obesity is associated with macrovascular endothelial dysfunction, a determinant of outcome in patients with coronary artery ...

Closed cranial window rodent model for investigating hemodynamic response to elevated intracranial pressure

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, 2021
Background Elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) occurs in several physiological and pathological conditions, yet long‐term sequellae are not common, which implies that blood flow is preserved above ischemic thresholds.

Involvement of the ADAMTS13–von Willebrand factor axis in acute kidney injury in mice with liver cirrhosis

open access: yesHepatology Research, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 844-858, June 2025.
Abstract Aim Hepatorenal syndrome‐induced acute kidney injury (AKI) comprises AKI and liver cirrhosis (LC) and is a risk factor for poor prognoses of patients with LC. Decreased a disintegrin‐like metalloproteinase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 13 (ADAMTS13) activity and increased von Willebrand factor (vWF) antigen levels are associated with LC ...

Photoacoustic Doppler Effect from Flowing Small Light-Absorbing Particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
From the flow of a suspension of micrometer-scale carbon particles, the photoacoustic Doppler shift is observed. As predicted theoretically, the observed Doppler shift equals half of that in Doppler ultrasound and does not depend on the direction of ...

Linear and Area Coverage With Closed Incision Negative Pressure Therapy Management: International Multidisciplinary Consensus Recommendations

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Closed incision negative pressure therapy (ciNPT) with foam dressings has received broad recognition for its ability to support incision healing for a variety of surgical procedures. Over time, these dressings have evolved to include linear and ‘area’ shapes to better conform to different incision types and surface geometries.

The deubiquitinase OTUD3 plays a neuroprotective role by reducing ferroptosis induced by cerebral ischaemia reperfusion via stabilizing PLK1 via deubiquitination

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2025.
Ovarian tumour domain‐containing protein 3 (OTUD3) modified PLK1 through deubiquitinating K48‐linked ubiquitination in the amino acid sequence 35–305 of PLK1. Decreased expression of OTUD3 after cerebral ischaemia‐reperfusion resulted in increased PLK1 ubiquitination and decreased PLK1 protein expression.
