Numerical Studies of Influencing Factors on the Homogeneity of the Powder Mixture during the Powder Spreading Process of Powder Bed Fusion–Laser Beam/Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
AISI 304L stainless steel powder is mixed with silicon nitride (Si3N4) powder and processed by PBF‐LB/M, allowing partial retention of Si3N4. The numerical approach effectively predicts the Si3N4 powder homogeneity and N content distribution on the powder bed. Recent studies have focused on the alloying of nitrogen (N) in high‐alloy stainless steels by

Neurochet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Neuroscience is a subject of abundant interest and fascination in the general public; although one can learn about neuroscience through podcasts, seminars, and popular science articles and books, there is not yet a common hands-on way to explore the most

Multifunctional Design of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Structures for Temporary Pediatric Fixation Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A metallic implant's higher stiffness compared to the surrounding bone leads to stress shielding problems, causing bone density reduction and bone growth interference in pediatric patients. 3D‐printed triply periodic minimal surface structures present a promising engineering solution.

Femtosecond Laser Fabrication of Anatase TiO2 Micro-nanostructures with Chemical Oxidation and Annealing

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The fabrication of nanoporous anatase TiO2 on a microstructured Ti base is achieved through an innovative hybrid fabrication method involving femtosecond laser ablation coupled with H2O2 oxidation and annealing. The anatase TiO2 micro-nanostructures have

Möglichkeiten zur Verbesserung der Siliereigenschaften verschiedener perennierender Gras-/ Leguminosenmischungen durch Hoch-Zucker-Gräser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Herbage from legumes or legume-rich swards potentially has lower concentrations of water soluble carbohydrates (= wsc) and a higher buffering capacity (= bc) than grass grown in pure stands.

Dislocation Distribution, Crystallographic Texture Evolution, and Plastic Inhomogeneity of Inconel 718 Fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Spatial distribution of microstructure in Inconel 718 3D‐printed with bidirectional strategy with no rotation and chessboard strategy is studied. The former results in a highly ordered arrangement of coarse grains separated by line clusters of dislocation‐dense fine grains. This arrangement is disrupted by the chessboard strategy.
