Study on high pressure plasma produced by ArF laser [PDF]
When an ArF excimer laser beam was focused in a high pressure argon gas from 50 to 130 atm, the plasma development is observed by streak camera from side window of chamber. The high pressure ArF laser plasma develops symmetrically and the plasma produced by ArF excimer laser hardly develops as compared with the plasma produced by XeCl.

Abstract Purpose This study compares the dosimetric accuracy of deep‐learning‐based MR synthetic CT (sCT) in brain radiotherapy between the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB). Additionally, it proposes a novel metric to predict the dosimetric accuracy of sCT for individual post‐surgical brain cases.

Magnetized fast isochoric laser heating for efficient creation of ultra-high-energy-density states
It is desirable to deposit more energy in the dense plasma core to trigger the fusion ignition. Here the authors demonstrate enhanced energy coupling from laser to plasma core by using solid targets and guiding the transport of relativistic electron beam

Mode Competition in Gas and Semiconductor Lasers [PDF]
The output spectrum of both gas and semiconductor lasers usually contains more than one frequency. Multimode operation in gas versus semiconductor lasers arises from different physics. In gas lasers, slow equilibration of the electron populations at different energies makes each frequency an independent single-mode laser. The slow electron diffusion in

Experimental demonstration of frequency pulling in single-pass free-electron lasers [PDF]
Frequency pulling is a well-known phenomenon in standard laser physics, leading to a shift of the laser frequency when the cavity and maximum gain frequencies are detuned. In this letter we present the first experimental demonstration of frequency pulling in single-pass free-electron lasers.

Development of a generic focal spot measurement method suitable for bore‐type linacs
Abstract Purpose In linear accelerators, deviations in the x‐ray focal spot position significantly affect the accuracy of radiation therapy. However, as the focal spot position in bore‐type linac systems such as the Radixact system, cannot be assessed using conventional methods, a new evaluation method is required.

A Definite Claim on Claim Indefiniteness: An Empirical Study of Definiteness Cases of the Past Decade with a Focus on the Federal Circuit and the Insolubly Ambiguous Standard [PDF]
This empirical study of patent claim definiteness cases of the past decade makes several novel findings including: (1) slightly more than half of final Federal Circuit definiteness cases hold the asserted claims not indefinite; (2) the percentage of non ...
