Widely Tunable Pulse Duration 100 mJ Single-Mode MOPA System Based on Yb-Doped Tapered Double-Clad Fiber and Nd:YAG Solid-State Amplifiers

open access: yesPhotonics
We report on a 1064 nm master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system based on pulse-modulated laser diode seed sources combined with fiber preamplifiers and a Yb-doped tapered double-clad fiber (T-DCF) amplifier used as an all-fiber master oscillator ...

Organic Electrochemical Transistor Channel Materials: Copolymerization Versus Physical Mixing of Glycolated and Alkoxylated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work discusses the use of blended channel materials in OECTs. It explores how mixing glycolated and alkoxylated polymers in various ratios offers a simpler and more efficient route to tuning OECT properties. The performance of the polymer blends is compared to the corresponding copolymers, demonstrating similar OECT characteristics, swelling ...

51.5 W monolithic single frequency 1.97 $\mathrm {\mu} $m Tm-doped fiber amplifier

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering, 2013
We demonstrate a monolithic single frequency Tm-doped fiber amplifier with output power of 51.5 W. A single frequency fiber laser at 1.97 $\mathrm {\mu} $m is amplified by a cascaded master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system with all-fiber ...

Characterization of Accumulated B-Integral of Regenerative Amplifier Based CPA Systems

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
We report on a new approach to measure the accumulated B-integral in the regenerative and multipass amplifier stages of ultrashort-pulse high-power laser systems by B-integral-induced coupling between delayed test post-pulses and the main pulse.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Wideband and flat gain series erbium doped fiber amplifier using hybrid active fiber with backward pumping distribution technique

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
A modern wideband and flat gain erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is suggested and accomplished, by employing a recently fabricated hafnia-bismuth-erbium doped fiber (HB-EDF) and zirconia-erbium doped fiber (Zr-EDF) as a hybrid active fiber.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Quantum, cyclic and particle-exchange heat engines

open access: yes, 2004
Differences between the thermodynamic behavior of the three-level amplifier (a quantum heat engine based on a thermally pumped laser) and the classical Carnot cycle are usually attributed to the essentially quantum or discrete nature of the former.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.
