ICALEO 2000: Proceedings of the Laser Materials Processing Conference, 2000
A new type of laser processing called “laser shock cleaning” in which the removal of the small particles is carried out by shock waves produced by laser sparking in air, is reported. The removal of very small metal particles (less than 1 μm in diameter) from silicon wafer surfaces was demonstrated successfully by this new technique.

Angular laser cleaning for the enhancement of cleaning efficiency
Conference Digest. 2000 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe (Cat. No.00TH8505), 2002Summary form only given. Laser cleaning has begun to attract a considerable amount of interest recently as a new cleaning technique among scientists and engineers. Due to its unique characteristics as a selective, precise, controllable and environmentally-friendly process, the laser cleaning technique is finding a wide range of successful applications ...

Detritiation of JET Tiles by Laser Cleaning
Fusion Science and Technology, 2008The retention of tritium (T) by carbon based deposits on tokamak surfaces is of increasing concern to the fusion community as the scale of tritium retention by this mechanism could be a limiting factor for the operation of fusion reactors, such as ITER.
