An Absolute Displacement Measurement Method and Its Application in Ship Motion Measurement

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
Due to the fact that there is no static reference point in ocean space, relative measurement sensors such as laser sensors cannot be applied to the measurement of ship motion.

An Offset Laser Measurement Method for the Deviation Analysis of Cylindrical Gears

open access: yesMachines, 2021
Generally, in the laser measurement of gears, the laser beam passes through the center of the gear, and the laser displacement sensor reads the spatial distance from the gear involute tooth surface to the laser displacement sensor.

A Novel Method for Pose and Position Calibration of Laser Displacement Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Laser displacement sensors are widely used in the aviation industry for the purpose of surface normal measurements. The measurement of a surface normal depends on prior knowledge of the poses and positions of the sensors, which are obtained through calibration.

Laser Displacement Sensors for Wind Tunnel Model Position Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Wind tunnel measurements of two-dimensional wing sections, or airfoils, are the building block of aerodynamic predictions for many aerodynamic applications. In these experiments, the forces and pitching moment on the airfoil are measured as a function of the orientation of the airfoil relative to the incoming airflow.

A Large Range Linear Displacement Calibration System Based on Coordinate Measurement and Laser Interference

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The linear displacement sensor is widely used in industrial measurement. The linear displacement sensor with measuring range less than 200mm is usually measured on a universal length measuring instrument.

Flash CCD laser displacement sensor

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2006
An optical displacement sensor, utilising the triangular method, linear CCD and a real-time processing circuit with no microprocessors involved, is presented. Theoretical analysis and experiments were carried out. Results show that the sensor has a measurement range of 0.2 rad, high linearity of 0.1% FSO, and high sampling rate of 50 kHz.
