Characterization of a chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head

Applied Optics, 2021
In this paper, the results of experimental characterization of an optical system consisting of a chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head are presented. As a result of integration, the part of the optical path of the displacement sensor was combined with the optical path of the laser beam.

Research on laser source drift with temperature of laser triangular displacement sensor

Ninth International Symposium on Precision Mechanical Measurements, 2019
Laser triangular displacement sensor (LTDS) is widely used in various high-precision measurement scenarios, but the accuracy of the sensor will be distinctly reduced in a working environment with extreme temperature. The mechanical structure, optical crystal and illuminant of the sensor will be distorted or drifted due to the impact of temperature ...

Confocal laser displacement sensor using a micro-machined varifocal mirror

Applied Optics, 2017
A confocal laser displacement sensor using a micro-machined varifocal mirror is reported. The focal length modulation is a key function of the confocal sensor. The mechanism of the focal length modulation determines the measurement speed and range. Here, we propose application of the micro-machined varifocal mirror for the modulation.

Error identification and compensation for a laser displacement sensor based on on-machine measurement

, 2021
Faced with many turned parts on a lathe, the profile inspection usually relies on coordinate measuring machine, which is an off-line method and may introduce repositioning or reclamping errors.

A measurement method for calibrating kinematic parameters of industrial robots with point constraint by a laser displacement sensor

Measurement science and technology, 2020
This paper proposes a novel calibration method for robot kinematic parameters by constraining a command point. At first, the profile errors derived from measuring the sphere surface by a laser displacement sensor are estimated and analyzed.

Integrated micro-laser displacement sensor

Proceedings IEEE The Tenth Annual International Workshop on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. An Investigation of Micro Structures, Sensors, Actuators, Machines and Robots, 2002
A new integrated optical microlaser displacement sensor including a Michelson interferometer was developed and its feasibility as a measurement device was confirmed. It can measure the relative distance traveled against an outside reflective mirror. The measurement resolution is expected to be on the order of 0.01 /spl mu/m.
