SLS Fabrication of Highly Porous Model Including Fine Flow Channel Network Aiming at Regeneration of Highly Metabolic Organs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Fabrication of very porous scaffold for regeneration of highly metabolic organs is reported. Polycaprolactone (PCL) powder was mixed with fine salt grains as filler and SLS processed to develop a model including fine flow channel network.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

A Study of Overripe Seed Byproducts from Sun-Dried Grapes by Dispersive Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesFoods, 2021
Overripe seeds from sun-dried grapes submitted to postharvest dehydration constitute a scarcely investigated class of vinification byproduct with limited reports on their phenolic composition and industrial applications. In this study, Raman spectroscopy

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

Dry eye associated with laser in situ keratomileusis: Mechanical microkeratome versus femtosecond laser [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009
To compare the incidence of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK)-associated dry eye and the need for postoperative cyclosporine A treatment after flap creation with a femtosecond laser and a mechanical microkeratome.Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.Eyes were randomized to flap creation with an IntraLase femtosecond laser (30 or 60 kHz) or a ...

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Craquelure structure of protein film modification under the laser radiation of different spectral range action

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Photonics & Engineering, 2016
A craquelure structure of protein film as indicator of macromolecule state is discussing. Craquelure is a network of fine cracks or crackles on the surface of a painting, caused chiefly by shrinkage of paint film or varnish.

Experimental analysis for the effect of dynamic capillarity on stress transformation in porous silicon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The evolution of real-time stress in porous silicon(PS) during drying is investigated using micro-Raman spectroscopy. The results show that the PS sample underwent non-negligible stress when immersed in liquid and suffered a stress impulsion during ...
