Narrow-gap laser-TIG hybrid welding process and mechanical properties of 0Cr13Ni5Mo stainless steel
To address the issues of insufficient impact toughness of the weld metal and low welding efficiency of the traditional arc welding in Pelton turbine runners, a narrow-gap laser-TIG hybrid welding process was proposed in this paper.

Finite element modeling of impact strength of laser welds for automotive applications [PDF]
This paper describes how laser welding is increasingly applied in the automotive industry in order to assemble sheet structures because of its efficiency and reliability. However, the numerous material and gauge combinations pose a major challenge in characterizing and understanding the crash behavior of the welded joints.

Notched Tensile and Impact Fracture of Ti-15-3 Laser Welds
The notched tensile strength (NTS) and impact toughness of Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al (β-type titanium alloy Ti-15-3) laser welds aged at temperatures ranging from 590 K to 866 K (317 °C to 593 °C) were determined, and the results were compared to those of unwelded Ti-15-3 plates aged at the same temperature.

Prediction of microstructural changes in laser impact welding of nickel joints
Abstract This work presents a novel 2D finite element (FE) model to investigate the bonding morphology and microstructural evolution during laser impact welding (LIW) of Ni/Ni joints, considering variations in flyer thickness and target impact angle.
