Wavelength Calibration for the LIBS Spectra of the Zhurong Mars Rover
China’s first Mars rover, Zhurong, landed on the southern region of Utopia Planitia, Mars, on 14 May 2021 (UTC). Zhurong is equipped with the Mars Surface Composition Detection Package (MarSCoDe), which analyzes the Martian surface’s material composition.

In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy of Er II for Transition Probability Measurements
We present a laser induced breakdown spectrum of Er II in the near ultraviolet region. To use the spectrum for the evaluation of the transition probabilities, an alloy target with a low content of Er was used to suppress the self-absorption.

Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy & Enrichment by Chelation
AbstractLIBS is used for fast, multi-component analysis of element compositions, but it is not very suitable for liquids. Moreover the sensitivity for metal ions is often insufficient. A fast and sensitive detection tool for metal ions in food matrices, including aqueous solutions, is developed. The principle of operation of LIBS is that a small amount

Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

Flame-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy
Flame-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was investigated to improve the sensitivity of LIBS. It was realized by generating laser-induced plasmas in the blue outer envelope of a neutral oxy-acetylene flame. Fast imaging and temporally resolved spectroscopy of the plasmas were carried out.
