Quantitative Determination of Cd in Soil Using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy in Air and Ar Conditions

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Rapid detection of Cd content in soil is beneficial to the prevention of soil heavy metal pollution. In this study, we aimed at exploring the rapid quantitative detection ability of laser- induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) under the conditions of air

Light‐Induced Field‐Tunneling Synapses in Solution‐Processed Van Der Waals Heterostructures for Scalable, Retina‐Inspired Optical Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable, solution‐processed WSe2/ZrO2‐x van der Waals heterostructure realizes a light‐induced field‐tunneling synapse (LIFTS) that activates exclusively under bright illumination, emulating the photopic adaptation of the human retina at the device level.

Flame-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
Flame-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was investigated to improve the sensitivity of LIBS. It was realized by generating laser-induced plasmas in the blue outer envelope of a neutral oxy-acetylene flame. Fast imaging and temporally resolved spectroscopy of the plasmas were carried out.

Decoupling Electron and Phonon Transport in 3D‐Printed Bismuth Telluride via Synergistic Compositional Co‐Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we use direct ink writing (DIW) to 3D print Bi2Te3‐based materials and naturally induce hierarchical functional nanostructures, which reduced the lattice thermal conductivity by half, resulting in high zT of 0.87and 0.89 in p‐type and n‐type compounds, respectively, competitive with commercial materials.

Laser-Induced Plasma Measurements Using Nd:YAG Laser and Streak Camera: Timing Considerations

open access: yesAtoms, 2019
We describe a streak camera system that is capable of both spatial and spectral measurements of laser-induced plasma. The system is based on a Hamamatsu C4334 streak camera and SpectraPro 2300i spectrograph.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
