Effects of closed immersion filtered water flow velocity on the ablation threshold of bisphenol A polycarbonate during excimer laser machining [PDF]
A closed flowing thick film filtered water immersion technique ensures a controlled geometry for both the optical interfaces of the flowing liquid film and allows repeatable control of flow-rate during machining.

Ablation debris control by means of closed thick film filtered water immersion [PDF]
The performance of laser ablation generated debris control by means of open immersion techniques have been shown to be limited by flow surface ripple effects on the beam and the action of ablation plume pressure loss by splashing of the immersion fluid ...

Micromachining of AlN and Al2O3 Using Fiber Laser
We report on high precision high speed micromachining of Al2O3 and AlN using pulsed near infrared fiber laser. Ablation thresholds are determined to be 30 J/cm2 for alumina and 18 J/cm2 for aluminum nitride.

Micromachining of Invar Foils with GHz, MHz and kHz Femtosecond Burst Modes
In this work, a burst mode laser is used for micromachining of 20 µm–250 µm thick Invar (Fe64/Ni36) foils. Holes were drilled by firing multiple pulses transversely onto the sample without moving the beam (percussion drilling).
