Surface Processing by a Pulsed Laser
1984The pulsed laser approach to surface glazing is analyzed. A heat transfer model is used to evaluate the melt depth and temperature obtained with different laser inputs. Laser parameters such as pulse shape and duration are discussed in terms of energy efficiency and molten material behaviour.

Laser Surface Processing and Diagnostics
Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1993AbstractLaser processing has become a powerful tool for surface modification and is applied successfully in many areas. In this article we focus on laser ablation as a very attractive way of surface patterning. We report both applications and mechanistic studies.

Processing of ceramics with copper lasers
1994 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe, 1994The copper laser is a pulsed visible laser (511 and 578 nm laser lines), which emits intense (50-500 kW), short pulses (20-60 ns) at high pulse repetition frequencies (2-32 kHz). Average power levels from commercial units range from 10-120 W whilst laboratory devices have reached 750 W.

Laser Control of Molecular Processes
Annual Review of Physical Chemistry, 1992The last 20 years have seen enormous strides in our understanding of the detailed dynamics of elementary chemical reactions ( 1 -3). With this understanding well in hand, attention has turned to controlling, rather than passively observing, molecular collision processes.
