Phase-conjugation of the isolated optical vortex using a flat surfaces
The robust method for obtaining the helical interference pattern due to the phase-conjugation of an isolated optical vortex by means of the non-holographic technique is proposed.

Self-mixing interference effects in tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy [PDF]
We report the effects of self-mixing interference on gas detection using tunable diode laser spectroscopy. For very weak feedback, the laser diode output intensity gains a sinusoidal modulation analogous to that caused by low finesse etalons in the ...

Quantitative modeling of laser speckle imaging [PDF]
We have analyzed the image formation and dynamic properties in laser speckle imaging (LSI) both experimentally and with Monte-Carlo simulation. We show for the case of a liquid inclusion that the spatial resolution and the signal itself are both significantly affected by scattering from the turbid environment.

Mapping Nanoscale Buckling in Atomically Thin Cr2Ge2Te6
Atomic‐resolution STEM is used to resolve nanoscale buckling in monolayer Cr2Ge2Te₆. A noise‐robust image analysis reconstructs three‐dimensional lattice distortions from single plan‐view images, revealing pronounced defect‐driven nm‐scale out‐of‐plane buckling.

Seeing the unseen: Laser speckles as a tool for coagulation tracking
The ability to measure protein functionality is critical for the development of plant-based products, particularly with respect to gelation behavior, which is vital for food structure and texture. Small amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS) tests remain the

Speckle noise in direct-detection lidar systems [PDF]
The speckle noise is evaluated from some typical lidar systems. The governing equations are summarized. The mutual intensity function of the speckle pattern is calculated in terms of the laser radiation modes.

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Assessment of choroidal blood flow using laser speckle flowgraphy
Background/aims There is considerable interest in novel techniques to quantify choroidal blood flow (CBF) in humans. In the present study, we investigated a novel technique to measure CBF based on laser speckle flowgraphy (LSFG) in healthy subjects ...
