Compact Diode-Pumped Solid-State Laser with Intracavity Pump-Enhanced DFG Emitting at ~3.5 Microns
We report a diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser used for intracavity pump-enhanced difference frequency generation (DFG) to create a 3.5-micron laser. Using a 50 mm-long periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystal inside the cavity of an Nd:YVO4 ...

Wavelength–stabilized near–field laser
Surface-trapped electromagnetic waves can be localized at a boundary between a semiconductor distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and a homogeneous dielectric medium or air. These waves enable a novel class of in-plane-emitting optical devices including edge-emitting lasers, disk microlasers or near-field fiber-coupled lasers.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

In this paper possibilities of a stabilization of large amplitude fluctuations in an intracavity-doubled solid-state laser are studied. The modification of the cross-saturation coefficient by the effect of spatial hole-burning is taken into account.

Interferometric, modulation-free laser stabilization
We demonstrate novel modulation-free frequency locking of a diode laser, utilizing a simple Sagnac interferometer to create an error signal from saturated-absorption spectroscopy. The interference condition at the output of the Sagnac is strongly affected by the sharp dispersion feature near an atomic resonance.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Random lasing in a short Er-doped artificial Rayleigh fiber
We report on random lasing observed with 5-m-long Er-doped fiber comprising an array of weak fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) inscribed in the fiber core and uniformly distributed over the whole fiber length.
